Transcript without subtitles
Videos with no uploaded subtitles still return a transcript, thanks to YouTube’s automatic captions.
Free to try · No signup requiredA video can have no uploaded (“manual”) subtitles and still be transcribed: YouTube generates automatic captions for the vast majority of public videos, and Toucora reads those and labels the source as auto-captions.
Paste the link and Toucora picks the best available caption track — manual first, then automatic — normalizes the text, and shows it beside the player. If a video truly has no caption track at all, we say so honestly instead of inventing content.
Frequently asked
The video has no subtitles — will it work?
Usually yes. YouTube auto-generates captions on most public videos and Toucora uses them when no manual subtitles exist.
How do I know it used auto-captions?
The video header shows a source label such as “EN · youtube_auto”.
What if there are no captions at all?
Rare, but we return a clear “no transcript” message rather than fabricate text. Audio transcription is on the roadmap.
